Florida's Southern Oak pauses coverage in 10 counties, amends new business guidelines

Southern Oak has notified agents that the company is temporarily pulling out of 10 Florida counties due to increased reinsurance costs. The counties include Broward, Escambia, Gulf, Indian River, Lee, Martin, Monroe, Palm Beach, Santa Rosa and Walton.

The Floridian carrier has also limited its new business to a minimum insured home value of $250,000 and 2022 or newer builds for all lines of business.
