CNA P&C arm books 91% CoR as NWP growth surges to 20%

CNA’s P&C segments posted a Q2 combined ratio of 91%, a three-point improvement on the prior-year period, as carriers with commercial and specialty books continued to put up good Q2 underwriting results.

Continuing a trend of commercial lines carriers surprising on the high side with growth, CNA’s P&C arm booked 17% GWP growth and 20% for NWP – up from mid-single-digit growth in Q1.
