United Property & Casualty’s (UPC) financial stability rating (FSR) was downgraded by two notches to ‘M’, from ‘A’, while FedNat and Weston have had their ratings withdrawn by Demotech.

The moves follow weeks of speculation about what actions Demotech would take on Florida carriers, after the ratings firm wrote to more than 15 insurers last month warning of possible downgrades.
