Berkshire Hathaway increases stake in Markel to ~3.4% in Q2

Berkshire Hathaway has increased its position in Markel through the acquisition of 47,318 additional shares in Q2, regulatory filings show, building on the 420,293 shares the Warren Buffett-controlled conglomerate acquired in Q1.

With the additional shares, Berkshire now owns around 3.4% of the Richmond-based specialty insurer’s shares outstanding, a stake that as of June 30 was worth over $605mn, according to SEC filings.
