Westfield Specialty is in advanced negotiations to buy Argo’s £600mn-GWP Lloyd’s business, as the New York-listed firm’s strategic review evolves from the group-level sale initially attempted, this publication can reveal.

Sources said that talks and due diligence had progressed well, and that it was likely a deal would follow in short order, although nothing has yet been signed.
