Bermuda-based (re)insurer Aspen Insurance has posted an improved combined ratio of 88.2% for the first half of 2022, and a 94% increase to $130mn in operating income, as the carrier saw the results of reshaping the business and attractive trading conditions.

The post-tax operating income total improved from a $66.7mn figure for H1 2021, while underwriting income for the six-month period increased 163% to $156.5mn
