MGA premiums up 18% in 2021 to over $60bn: AM Best

Premiums written by MGAs in 2021 rose to over $60bn, up almost 18% from 2020, when the intermediaries generated around $51bn, AM Best reported.

The ratings agency noted, however, that actual premium produced by MGAs is more than $60bn, since insurers report only MGAs that generate premiums greater than the 5% surplus.
