UPC lays off 70 employees ahead of personal lines runoff

United Insurance Holdings (UPC) has laid off around 70 people in its sales and marketing division as the carrier prepares the runoff of its personal lines division, sources have told this publication.

In late August, UPC signaled that it will pull out of personal lines in Florida, Texas, Louisiana and New York.
