Berkshire Hathaway has privately indicated it will pull out of a swathe of retro catastrophe quota share deals as the market continues to digest the implications of Hurricane Ian, this publication can reveal.

Multiple sources said Berkshire had indicated it was pulling back from writing retro quota shares, with discussion of a handful of reinsurers being affected.
