Further market hardening is needed after the US renewables market sustained a summer of extreme weather and large-scale natural catastrophe losses, as unmodeled events dwarfed estimated claims values, according to the latest report by GCube Insurance.

In an October report titled North American Nat Cat Update, GCube described the scale of recent damages, and estimated claims size as “unprecedented,” despite greater awareness around extreme weather events.
