James River Q3 CoR improves 28 points to 94.1% fueled by E&S, casualty re

James River swung to underwriting profits in Q3 as its headline combined ratio fell 28 points to 94.1%, driven by better E&S and casualty reinsurance performance.

The specialty carrier’s loss ratio declined 27.8 points to 69.5% as its expense ratio decreased 0.2 points to 24.6%
