Richard Whitt will retire on January 1, the company has announced, after previously saying he would retire by March 31, 2023.

Following Whitt’s retirement, co-CEO Thomas Gayner will become sole chief executive, while SVP and CFO Jeremy Noble will become president of the specialty insurer’s global operations, as the company disclosed in May.
