Root launches internal probe into $9.5mn vendor payment

InsurTech Root has engaged outside counsel to conduct an internal investigation into a series of marketing-services transactions made by a former senior employee in 2022.  

The company said in a regulatory filing on 30 December that at least $9.5mn in payments were directed by one senior marketing employee to a vendor in which that employee had an interest.
