AM Best has put a negative outlook on several Canopius entities while affirming their A- (Excellent) ratings, as it noted that capitalization levels fell in 2021.

The negative outlooks apply to Canopius US Insurance and Canopius Re (Bermuda).

The group’s risk-adjusted capitalization fell to a “strong” level under AM Best frameworks at year-end 2021, from “very strong” previously, and the ratings agency said it was expected...
