Aon and reinsurers establish open-data standard for risk modelling

Aon, together with RenaissanceRe, Scor, Hannover Re and Swiss Re, have created an open data standard for modelling property reinsurance placements and will now broaden the scope of the initiative to include cyber and casualty risks, after tests proved “highly successful”.

The Open Exposure Data (OED) Standard is a non-commercial project that set out to test the idea that open-data standards in risk modelling are more effective than proprietary and commercial ones.
