AM Best expecting positive 2022 trade credit results despite Ukraine war

Trade credit insurers are likely to report strong results in 2022 despite the war in Ukraine, as they have largely succeeded in “managing down” exposure to the conflict, according to AM Best.

"Initial exposures – in particular to Russia – were substantial, as is typical for trade credit insurers, with a mixture of domestic (between Russian companies) and foreign (with international sellers and Russian buyers),” it said.
