James River has placed its casualty reinsurance business up for sale as it seeks to hone its focus on its core E&S insurance and fronting businesses, this publication can reveal.

Sources said that Howden Tiger Capital Markets has been retained to find a buyer for the Bermuda-based JRG Reinsurance Company, which had $448mn of total equity at year-end 2021 when it was last disclosed.
