Argo reports 21.9-point drop in CoR to 100.5%, takes another US reserve charge

Argo’s combined ratio in Q4 2022 declined 21.9 points to 100.5% as the insurer’s US operations booked lower reserve charges compared with Q4 2021.

The US unit recorded $36.6mn of net unfavorable development in Q4 last year, primarily driven by liability lines for accident years 2019 and prior in businesses the company exited.
