Enstar profits jump 89% in Q4 2022 to $227mn

Enstar reported a net profit of $227mn in the final quarter of 2022, up 89% on the prior-year quarter, as the legacy carrier benefited from improved investment returns and favourable reserve development.

The quarter capped a year of major run-off acquisition for the carrier, with $2.7bn of M&A, including deals with Aspen and Argo.
