Everest will launch its primary operation in Mexico after acquiring XL’s former local insurance license from Axa XL, sources said, as Chubb’s Jaime Chaves joins the carrier to lead business.

It is understood that the French carrier already had a Mexican insurance license when it merged with XL a few years ago.
