James River taps Axa XL’s Sutherland to build out E&S line

James River has hired Todd Sutherland as senior vice president of underwriting, management liability, to establish that division within the company’s E&S segment.

Sutherland was previously at Axa XL, where he most recently served as head of US central zone for nearly three years.
