Louisiana will propose bills centered on 'legal reform' in 2023 legislative session

During the 2023 legislative session, the Louisiana Department of Insurance will propose a package of solutions centered around legal reform against “bad actors” who take advantage of homeowners in the state, Commissioner Jim Donelon said during an April 4 press conference.

While the department’s package of legislation passed last year was aimed at protecting consumers from insurers in the claim process, this year’s focus will be bringing insurance companies back to Louisiana, the commissioner added.
