Travelers Q1 $535mn cat loss above five-year average by $160mn: CFO Frey

Travelers CFO Dan Frey disclosed that pre-tax catastrophe losses of $535mn during Q1 were about $160mn above the average first quarter cats for the past five years.

On a call with analysts, CEO Alan Schnitzer said: “Catastrophe losses were elevated as the industry experienced the highest number of Q1 PCS catastrophe events since PCS started tracking in the 1950s.”
