Canada’s largest mutual Beneva joins Net-Zero Insurance Alliance

Canadian insurer Beneva – the country’s largest mutual, with around C$6.6bn ($4.9bn) of GWP – has joined the Net-Zero Insurance Alliance (NZIA), following a period of turbulence in which three major carriers have exited the group.

Announcing its membership, Beneva said it has committed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions of its operations by 50% by 2030, using 2022 as its reference year.
