Auto insurer Kemper has estimated a net loss between $75mn-85mn for the first quarter of 2023 and an adjusted consolidated net operating loss between $60mn-70mn.

In a preliminary earnings release, the carrier disclosed estimated combined ratios for the quarter by segment, which were adversely impacted by prior-year claim reserve additions and catastrophes.
