Kemper CEO Joe Lacher said that the carrier had to update its H1 2023 guidance driven by “unanticipated trend changes” during the first quarter of 2023.

On a call with analysts, management noted an unexpected elevation in frequency due to weather events within the company’s three main states, including California and Texas.
