Focusing solely on companies’ emissions when attempting to measure their low-carbon progress could produce a “misleading representation” of transition risk, according to research by WTW and the Institute of International Finance (IIF).

WTW and the IIF said their research found little empirical correlation between companies’ operational-emissions intensity and their climate-transition value-at-risk.
