AM Best has placed Validus Re’s ratings under review with developing implications following the announcement of its sale to RenaissanceRe.

The review regards the financial strength rating (FSR) of A (excellent) and the long-term issuer credit ratings of “a” (excellent) of Validus Reinsurance Ltd and Validus Reinsurance Ltd.
