Swiss Re has cut wildfire exposure but the risk is ‘insurable’: Lot

Swiss Re has reduced its exposure to wildfire risk as part of efforts to step away from frequency risk generally, although it believes the risk is “insurable”, Gianfranco Lot, CUO, P&C Re, has said.

Lot said wildfire was among six or seven "trend" or secondary risks in whose assessment the reinsurer had invested to develop its capabilities.
