Canadian insurer Intact has incurred around C$570mn ($421mn) in Q3 to-date pre-tax cat losses from wildfires and other weather events, according to an estimate released Thursday.

The losses relate to a number of events in July and August, none of which met the threshold for reinsurance under Intact's cat treaties.
