AIG has struck a $400mn reserve deal with Enstar to cover Validus Re reserves, following the agreed sale of the reinsurance business to RenaissanceRe earlier this year.

The deal covers reserve development excess of net reserves, with no further details disclosed in an announcement this morning from Enstar.
