IFRS 17 to cost insurance industry $21bn-$27bn: WTW

WTW has again revised up its estimate of the total cost of implementing IFRS 17 to insurers by a further 15%, now putting it in the range of $21bn-$27bn.

Last year, WTW estimated the regime could cost the industry $18bn-$24bn.

According to the report, although material progress has been made with IFRS 17, survey participants stated that "much work remains post-implementation".
