The Hanover pre-announces $198.5mn in cat losses, driven by US storms

The Hanover Insurance Group has estimated Q3 pre-tax catastrophe losses at $195.8mn, citing multiple convective storms across the Midwestern US as the main driver.

The cat loss estimate for Q3 2023 is more than twice Q3 2022’s $90.1mn, which included $28mn attributable to Hurricane Ian.
