Kinsale bullish on E&S near-term, but reserves ‘conservative’ given future uncertainty

Specialty carrier Kinsale's reserves are more conservatively positioned now than at any time in the company's history, though CEO Michael Kehoe still said the company’s near-term view of the E&S market is “bullish”, with possible uncertainty ahead.

On a conference call with analysts to discuss Q3 results, Kehoe was upbeat about the near-term environment but described high growth rates from over the last five years as an “anomaly” and warned investors of possible difficulties ahead.
