Allstate is following a four-point plan — rate increases, expense reduction, stricter underwriting for new auto business, and changes in claims procedures — to improve the performance of its auto segment, CEO Tom Wilson said.

The changing claims procedures will include accelerating resolution of bodily injury claims and increasing in-person inspections.
