Preliminary Hawaii insurance division count pegs wildfire losses at $1.35bn

Preliminary data collected from 200 insurers through September 30 points to total losses of about $1.35bn for the August Hawaiian wildfires.

Insurers have paid out roughly $673.3mn in claims as of that date, related to losses at two different sites on the island, according to the Hawaii Insurance Division.
