FEMA flood, federal flood, national guard

President Joe Biden signed bipartisan legislation yesterday that will fund the federal government, and which contains provisions that extend funding for the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) until February 2, 2024.

The program would have lapsed at midnight, November 17. According to a release from the US Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA), Congress must now reauthorize the NFIP by 11:59pm on February 2, 2024.
