Berkshire Hathaway vice chairman Charles “Charlie” Munger died this morning in a California hospital, Berkshire announced, citing information from Munger’s family.

Munger was 99 years old.

In the announcement, Berkshire CEO Warren Buffett said, “Berkshire Hathaway could not have been built to its present status without Charlie’s inspiration, wisdom and participation.”
