Broker valuations rose in 2023 as market hit 751 M&A deals: MarshBerry

Last year was a “solid” – though not record-setting – year for insurance brokerage M&A, with 751 announced transactions, which marked a 16.8% decline year-over-year, investment bank MarshBerry reported.  

Agency valuations rose in 2023, the agency said. The maximum purchase price for platform assets was an 18.68x Ebitda multiple, while the average for all firms stood at a 14.85x
