Allstate’s December cat losses below $150mn threshold for third month in a row

Allstate’s estimated catastrophe losses were below the $150mn reporting threshold for December 2023, the third month in a row, while total catastrophe losses for Q4 were $68mn pre-tax.

Unfavorable prior year reserve re-estimates, excluding catastrophes, totaled $199mn in the fourth quarter, with approximately $148mn related to personal auto, including costs for litigation claims.
