Axis Capital Holdings has booked a $425mn reserve charge for Q4 2023, attributable to liability and professional lines related to 2019 and prior accident years, the company said in a preliminary earnings disclosure.

Both insurance and reinsurance segments were impacted. The amount is equal to 4.5% of net loss reserves at September 30, 2023, according to the firm.
